2002 Denis began his sixth year of work on the circle
painting.
In 2003 the artist reyturned to the UK (Dorset) working as a consultant
artist/designer for a private company. Here he painted ten works
on mahogany veneer door panels ('Baptists' work).
The Baptists series involved water reflections, a subject which
the artist
would return to in 2006. However fate played its hand once again in redirecting his art. Whilst in Dorset the artist was diagnosed with
a tumor. He was given slim chance of survival after his doctors
discovered secondary cancers. After surgery and several weeks
of immobility he returned to his Swedish studio.
Once there he created twenty one oil paintings on
masonite, see below. These works display how the artist
applied his method of split level conscious painting with
the creation of vivid existential and a spiritual intelligent art which correlate with the subject matter.

umber of ideas for a series
paintings based on 'reflections' using the local historic Ashton to Manchester canal which was close to his
Manchester studio. The 'Baptists' paintings from 2003 may have served
as inspiration for the work of the canal sketchs.
In 2006 he became re-united with his son and was introduced
to his grand daughter before finally returning to join his wife at his Swedish studio in 2007.
